Parent Collection
The Windsor Public Library Kidspace offers a wide array of materials available for parents/caregivers. The library offers books, DVDs, information packs and tough topic pictures books to help you from pregnancy all the way up to the Birds and the Bees. We offer support in early literacy through our many programs and 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten reading challenge. Our On-the-Go kits provide books, DVDs and CDs perfect for those visits to Grandma’s or long car rides.

Storytimes and Programs
The Windsor Public Library Kidspace offers weekly storytimes and a playgroup for babies, toddlers and children up to age 5. We also offer monthly and specialty programs for children up to age 12. Our weekly storytimes and playgroups are available to drop-in with no prior notice. Many of our afterschool and evening programs do require pre-registration. Check out our Kidspace events.

Ready Rosie
The Windsor Public School system has purchased a web-based resource for families of 0-5 year olds called ReadyRosie. ReadyRosie is an online resource that delivers video-based emails and text messages in both English and Spanish to parents and caregivers. The ReadyRosie videos feature real families modeling quick activities that can be done at home to promote success in school! Visit the Ready Rosie website to sign up!

Each month the Windsor Public Library Kidspace sends out an email newsletter letting subscribers know about upcoming programs for kids. On rare occasion we will sends out service highlights or reminders about special performances happening at the library.


Homework Help
Need help finding resources for your project or report? Access databases from home or at the library (some databases will require your Library card for access) or stop in to the library we’ll be happy to help you locate the best resources.

Kidspace Kindle
Ask at the Kidspace desk for our Kidspace Kindle loaded with a collection of the current years Nutmeg nominees for Elementary and Intermediate levels.

Exam Proctoring
As part of Windsor Public Library’s mission and in an effort to support continuing education, lifelong learning and as a public service, the library offers proctoring services for students who need to take exams. 3D Printing & Makerspace
We support STEAM education in our Makerspace. We offer a variety of scheduled programs but the space may also be used by appointment. Find out more about our Makerspace and 3D printer here.

Notary services are available by appointment at both the Main Library (860) 285-1912 and Wilson Branch (860) 519-5809.

Assignment Alert
Teachers, contact us and let us know about your class assignments ahead of time. We are happy to compile resources to meet your students’ needs.

Music Educators
We currently collect Music K-8 a resource magazine perfect for elementary and middle school music teachers. Contact us about utilizing this resource.

School Visits
We are available to visit local schools, including preschools! Kidspace staff will bring books and highlight specific topics per your request. We are also available to come present about the library’s STEAM programming, makerspaces, Summer Reading program and more! Contact us about scheduling a visit.

Help foster a love of reading in your students with professionally selected book recommendations. We’re happy to help develop booklists for your students, please contact us.

Database Access
The Windsor Public Library offers access to databases which include articles on literature, languages, online training, and research help.

Direct students and caregivers to the Windsor Public Library for a variety of educational programs.

Nutmeg Book Award

The Connecticut Nutmeg Book Award is given out each year to a book that is not chosen by teachers, parents or librarians, but by YOU, young Connecticut readers. Nominations are announced in May; voting takes place the following April.

The Windsor Public Library Kidspace has a special Nutmeg Books shelf complete with the 2016 & 2017 nominees and winners. The 2018 nominees were releases May 1st stop in and check them out.
